The Big E'nuff Band

The Players...

Allan Harrington-songwriter/guitarist and sometimes sings...

Allan started playing guitar in High School, sucked in by Beatlemania, Dylan, the Stones, Clapton and Hendrix.   He had to take a break from music while in the military, but picked it up again after his release.  He has played in all sorts of groups from folk duos/trios/”Quatets” to country bands and Rock ensembles.  He was a solo performer in the 70’s and played the coffeehouse circuit in the New England area, appearing at  venues like Café Lena’s and numerous Festivals, wine and cheese cellars and colleges.  Later, Allan studied jazz and classical guitar with Tony Lombardozzi (New Haven, CT) and Dennis Turcheck (Oneonta, NY), both outstanding players and teachers, to improve his technique and understanding of music theory.   He studied at SUNY Oneonta, majoring in Psychology, and minoring in music.  Upon graduation, He taught guitar at SUNY Oneonta, and operated a music store, where he sold the usual strings and stuff, repaired and built guitars,  all the while teaching private lessons and playing in a country band.  Ahhh, what a life that was!   By this time he was the father of two wonderful children, and was offered a job that would change his life.    Due to his new position, Allan was unable to do much music for over ten years,  however that changed in the very late 90’s, and he picked up the guitar again.   He then proceeded to go on a writing rampage, and decided to  write his own songs and tell his story with his music.  Seven Cd’s and 80 plus songs later, here he is today with this great group of musicians that share his vision for making music come alive.
Allan recently returned from two trips to Macedonia where he was fortunate to have met several great musicians.  That opportunity has opened his ears to a whole other world of music, and some new tunes are a-brewing!

Mike Gedzelman-Alto Sax

Mike Gedzelman plays alto sax and has been playing professionally for over 30 years.  His first love is jazz and blues, but he also plays regularly in a rock and roll band and sings in a choir.  Mike's primary influences are Sonny Rollins, Cannonball Adderly,  Phil Woods, and Lou Donaldson.  Mike is thrilled to play with The Big Enough Band because: "I have an excellent opportunity to express myself musically while playing great original tunes".
Mike's playing is truly amazing, and absolutely wonderful to listen to!

Jim Callahan-Bass

Jim has finally found an outlet for his jazz frustrations.  Having played sax in jazz bands throughout high school and college he now gets a chance to hold down the low end for the Big Enough Band.  He plays upright and electric bass, as well as helping Allan chart out the new material for the band.  Jim also plays and reads for the sax(s), flute and clarinet.

Marc Feldman-drums/percussion

I'm a drummer whose musical career has spanned nearly FIVE decades. I came of age in the 60s and participated fully in the great American cultural revolution. I was also inspired by the beat/jazz/bop movement. My earleist jazz influences were Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, Oscar Peterson, Jobim, Chet Baker, Ella, Basie, Coltrane and Miles. My rock idols are Wilson Pickett, The Rascals, Van Morrison, Otis, Aretha, James, Steely Dan and Gypsy. I love jazz, soul, blues, R&B and gospel. I was a devoted jazz drummer as a youth and merged into the rock scene in the late 60s when I moved out west and toured from Montana to Texas with the legeandary, midwest show and rock band, The Young Rebels. I also played with Montana rock pioneer, Burch Ray and had the priveledge of backing J Frank Wilson. During the 70s, I studied percussion with Elliot Fine of the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra and played six nights a week for four years with the Don McGrane Orchestra, backing vocalist Louise Drake. After relocating to Ohio to complete a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, I joined the Rory Cullen Trio accommpanying the superb jazz vocalist, Ms. Jean Holden, Toledo, Ohios First Lady of Song. In the eighties, I settled in DC and established a successful pivate practice in Georgetown. I'm a psychotherapist who works with adults, groups and families. I'm happily married and have succesfuly launched two wonderful children. I have flexible professional hours and am available to rehearse and perform. In the last year, I have been playing regulary with the Little Falls Jazz Quartet and Doc Volatile. In addition, I am the drummer for the rock band, Deaf Dog and The Indictments, a spirited and nationally televised R&B group comprised of seven superior court judges! I'm heavily into modern digital technology, and love to record in my studio and during live performances. I am a schooled, technically proficient drummer with alot of pro show, jazz and rock experience. Tasteful and soulful accommpaniement is my specialty. I love soft, colorful brush and mallet work and can also drive the daylights out of a band when called for. Most of all, I aim to lay down a solid, in the pocket, beat that supports and compliments the music. I'm eager to take on internet studio projects but most especially love to perform live with soulful and passionate players who respect and support each other's musical expression and development.
